Ke-Fa Cen


Cen Kefa has participated in and finished more than 200 R&D projects for the state and corporations, involving energy and environment engineering and including lots of international cooperative R&D projects with the research insititutes and corporations of the United States, France, Canada, Switzerland, Japan, Korea and other countries.



In 2005, Cen got the first prize of the Chinese University for Natural Science for the Numerical Experimental Study of Wear Protection on Heat Transfer Surfaces in Boilers; in 2001, he won the second prize of the National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress for Optimization for Power Coal Blending, Catalytic Combustion and Industrialization; in 2005, the second prize of the National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress; and in 1997, the second prize of the National Award for Technological Invention for the Fluidized Bed Combustion of Coal Mixture.
Until now, Cen has won the first prize of the Chinese University for Natural Science; two second prizes of the National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress; one secind prize, one third prize and one fourth prize of the National Award for Technological Invention; one third prize of the National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress; several second prizes of the MOE Award for Scientific and Technological Progress; and several second prizes of the Award for Scientific and Technological Progress by Zhejiang Province.


Cen has published over 400 academic papers, of which about 100 papers are indexed by the Science Citation Index (SCI) and 200 papers are indexed by the Engineering Index (EI). In addition, he has published 20 monographs; and 18 of his patents have been authorized by the State Intellectual Property Office of China. 


Under his supervision, six students have got their doctor’s degrees, 70 got Ph.D, and 256 got their master’s degrees. Two of his students got the 100 national top doctorial dissertations; four were named Cheung Kong scholars, and 26 now serve as professors.
