On Sep 9th, Prof. H. R Thomas, Dean of Cardiff School of Engineering and Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, Cardiff University UK visited ZJU and met with Present Wei Yang. Both introduced the developments and research advantages of their own universities and exchanged ideas to push forward education and research collaborations between ZJU and Cardiff University. They reached an overall agreement on carrying out collaborations in geo-environmental engineering, hydraulic resources and contaminated water treatment, new energy and energy saving techniques, chemical engineering, etc. Prof. Thomas also had a talk with Prof. Bo-Geng Li, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Prof. Yun-Min Chen, Vice Dean of Faculty of Engineering on detail collaboration issues. Prof. Thomas also attended International Symposium on Geoenvironmental Engineering 2009, hosted by College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Zhejiang University during Sep 7th – 10th. |
