Research Interests

? Low pollutant combustion technology for utility boilers, in particular, low NOx combustion technology for pulverized coal combustion.
? Combustion optimization, in particular, on-line combustion optimization based on computational intelligence for control NOx and improve the boiler efficiency.
? Neural network and support vector machine modelling method, the genetic algorithms for optimization problems.
? Gas/solids two-phase flow, including the velocity, mass flow measurement for gas/particle two-phase flow and the numerical simulation for gas-solid two-phase flow.
? Numerical simulation for flow, combustion and pollutants control, in particular, the turbulent flow and combustion modelling in large-scale burners, boilers and pipes.
? Studies on the thermoacoustic instabilities in combustion, including the mechanism of the formation of thermoacoustic instabilities and its control.

 

Current Projects

More than 50 research grants and contracts as a principal investigator (a total of around 20 million RMBs) awarded by NSFC (Natural Science Foundation of China), MST (Ministry of Science and Technology), NSF (Natural Science Foundation) of Zhejiang Province and a range of industrial companies.
